“NE” Make By Pass Rotameter as designed for measurement of flow rate of Liquid and gases in 2” NB or higher Size pipe sine. The complete assembly consist of carrier rings [orifice Flanges], orifice Plate, by-pass piping with Isolation valves & a Rotameter as indicator. The orifice plate is design on IS of BS specification.

The rotameter’s operation is based on the variable area principle: fluid flow raises a float in a tapered tube, increasing the area for passage of the fluid. The greater the flow, the higher the float is raised. The height of the float is directly proportional to the flowrate. With liquids, the float is raised by a combination of the buoyancy of the liquid and the velocity head of the fluid.
With gases, buoyancy is negligible, and the float responds to the velocity head alone. The float moves up or down in the tube in
proportion to the fluid flowrate and the annular area between the float and the tube wall. The float reaches a stable position in the tube when the upward force exerted by the flowing fluid equals the downward gravitational force exerted by the weight of the float. A change in flowrate upsets this balance of forces. The float then moves up or down, changing the annular area until it again reaches a position where the forces are in equilibrium. To satisfy the force equation, the rotameter float assumes a distinct position for every constant flowrate. However, it is important to note that because the float position is gravity dependent, rotameters must be vertically oriented and mounted.

FLOWTECH Glass Tube Rotameter Area Flow Meters (Rotameters) are intended for general in line and By-Pass metering applications (i.e. for Gas & Liquid) where operating conditions are with the limitations of Glass metering tubes. These are the principle of Variable Area. The float moves freely up and down tapered borosilicate glass with fluid flow from bottom to top. The float takes up a position where buoyancy forces and the float weight are balanced in proportion to flow rate. The Vertical position of the float as indicated by scale is the measure of the instantaneous flow rate.

|Allowable Fluid Temp||-20 to 250 deg C|
In comparison to the glass tube rotameters, metal tube rotameters are compatible with much higher temperature and pressure and render superior mechanical strength and durability.
Owing to their simplicity, low-cost but high-reliability nature, these meters have found applications in a wide variety of industries including but not limited to paper/fiber, steel, petrochemical, food/beverage, air-conditioning, water treatment, chemical, etc. industries. Even with the rapid growth of new technology meters such as ultrasonic, electromagnetic and Coriolis meters, this type is still one of our steady sellers.
All the meters are calibrated accurately before shipment and shipped with test and calibration report to ensure the accuracy of the meter. The scales are inscribed with easily visible marking and can use the unit of the customers choice(index, percentage, actual flow(cm3/h, SCFM, etc.))
